We couldn’t imagine anything more indulgent than ordering gourmet food from one of our favourite restaurants, but gourmet food that comes to you? Unbelievable. This is not the stuff of fantasy, however – the reality is that for two weeks in October, a New York-style street van will be serving up delicious seasonal dishes and providing the busy business women and men of London with great gourmet food on the go – Hallelujah! As all food lovers in the capital should be aware, the London Restaurant Festival will be kicking off on the 4th October in Covent Garden – and showcasing their wonderful gourmet food there will be Jun Tanaka (Pearl Restaurant’s Executive Chef) and Mark Jankel (Chef and Founder of The Food Initiative) through the medium of Street Kitchen. What makes it even more salivatingly tempting is that all produce will be locally sourced, organic and sustainable – all made possible with the help of ecological economist Dr Daniel Lopez Dias, enlisted to minimise the environmental impact of the project, and thus help us sleep better at night! The London Restaurant Festival featuring Street Kitchen is on from the 4th October concluding in Old Spitalfields on the 18th October. Get down there and fill your boots.
