It’s Fashion Week in London and we at Hg2 have put together our list of the haughty-spots to see and be seen at this week. The most stylish bars, hotels, restaurants, nightclubs and places to relax in London. Check out our city guide for the image conscious.
Where To Drink
Drink with the well-groomed at the 80-foot Long Bar in Sanderson Hotel. It’s simply one of London’s top design hotels. High-maintenance celebs, designers and PR types will be sipping the bar’s signature skinny cocktails, including the lean, green Mexicana. Don’t worry! It won’t take a toll on the hips and goes down a treat. For those who prefer to get in with the too-cool-for-school fashion media types, head to 69 Colebrook Row. This hidden-away boutique hotel in Islington is a delightfully intimate wilfully under-the-radar Martini bar that has become a firm fave of those in the know.
Where To Eat
No matter how waif-like models may be, The Parlour at Sketch is the perfect location for any appetite. Owner Mourad has made sure his most famous London haunt stays edgy, quirky and oh-so fashionable. Chic online store My-wardrobe.com have partnered with the restaurant to offer the ultimate fashion lunch all week. If English cuisine isn’t your thing, pretend you’re in Paris at Aubaine in SW3. This bakery-cum-restaurant is the chicest place to pick up a continental-style snack before heading back to worshipping the latest looks.
Where To Sleep
The divas of the fashion pack don’t like to venture too far from their roost. After a wearying day of catching the catwalks, glamazons shimmy for some shut-eye to Blake’s Hotel, one of Kensington’s most sumptuous sleeperies. The hotel designed by none other than design superstar Anoushka Hempel. Fans of the shabbiest-of-chic looks stay east at Rough Luxe, is an inspiring fusion of urban-luxury and grunge.
Where To Party
When the VIP-only after-show parties and schmooze-fests are over, New York import The Box opens its doors to the wide-eyed, nocturnal socialites to hang after the vain have turned in to catch up on their beauty sleep. This Soho venue is a theatre of varieties oft frequented by Royals and A-listers alike. Anyone who makes it past security gets to enjoy a night-time sideshow of decadent on-stage entertainment.
Where To Relax
Bored of luxury brands and liver hurting after one too many skinny cocktails, the pampered can get back to their beautaceous best at one of London’s top retreats. Try The Dorchester Spa in Park Lane for surely the city’s most decadent water-based experience. You might get lucky and catch Anna Wintour in the steam room. Or if you need something cultured but with a fashion fix, then take in the LFW exhibition at the gorgeous Somerset House.
