Murano Urban Resort
Keep your shades on, not simply to fit in with the creative-media clientele, but to gaze on the hotel’s bright, glass-roofed atrium, its all-white leather sofas and cup chairs and an ingenious fireplace, stretched horizontally along the wall. The 52 rooms are luminous, too, with white walls and carpets and Pop Art prints on the walls, as well as changeable mood lighting. Even the lifts are sparkly. There’s an ongoing ‘Love&Luxe’ package for those who book the honeymoon suite, which has an enviable rooftop terrace with heated pool; you get a privileged 4pm checkout, so you can stay up late on the complimentary champagne and caviar. With DJ sessions and a party atmosphere that’s not confined to weekends, this isn’t a hotel for early birds, anyway. It’s very much a hang-out, with a designer restaurant, two bars, a poker lounge and dozens of varieties of vodka; lots of young Parisians come for weekend brunch.
