29 Bar is on Dostyk, and like many other bars around town it serves really rather good food. The menu is the usual eclectic mixture, and it’s a lunch-hour favourite for the many nearby offices. The interior, more bar than café, is filled with neon-green sofas and chairs, shiny industrial pipes running along the ceiling, lots of TVs showing music videos and a glowing bar at the back of the room. This is probably why it’s quiet during the day. By night, it’s a different story with tables spilling onto the street (weather permitting, of course) and an impressive row of cars parked outside. It’s open until 4am, but in case you find yourself doing an all-nighter you can come back for breakfast when it opens at 10am. Only die-hard hedonists need apply.
