Set in a strip of swanky shops and just next door to Sadu, Posh is a smart bar – one the more mature Almaty elite like to be seen in. The purple walls, and black and white leather armchairs and sofas create a rather exclusive ambiance, although the famous faces decorating the walls are a little kitsch. They knock up some great cocktails, and the wine list is a selection from the French Hédiard boutique. Posh also holds Mafia parties (it’s a murder mystery style game) three times a week but if you’re lucky one of the regular glamorous launch parties Posh hosts will be taking place. The menu, a mix of European and Asian cuisine, is rather tasty, despite the service being a bit slow. Our recommendation would be to eat here at lunchtime, when they serve a super cheap business lunch (1,320 KZT), and drink here in the evenings.
