As something of an Almaty institution, Coffeedelia is buzzing from early ’til late. Café tables, armchairs and banquettes make for a functional, multi-purpose space, where customers can pop-in, lounge or work (note that there’s a minimum spend of 1,000 KZT to use the WiFi). In summer there’s an outside terrace and the floor-to-ceiling windows at the front are opened wide, allowing fresh air to circulate and cool things right down inside. The menu includes plenty of snacky sandwiches, salads and pizzas alongside some heartier main meals – the home-style fried potatoes and mushrooms are a particular highlight. Besides hot drinks there are fresh juices and alcoholic beverages for the cocktail crowd and English-language magazines are available to purchase from the newsstand if you’re short of reading material. ‘Love Coffee Love People’ proclaims the bright-orange lettering on the wall – and we love Coffeedelia.
