Pacha – The Rooms is a clever club concept indeed: a series of 20 or so inter-connected rooms made for living it up, Pacha-style. The décor is eclectic, to say the least, and each room is based around a different theme; from the monochrome Absolut rooms to the crazy chalet/hunting lodge room with faux leopard-print walls. The VIP rooms in the basement, meanwhile, are Arabian Nights-style tented affairs with divans and are ideal for lounging, smoking kalyan and karaoke. Entrance is free and all rooms can be reserved for a rather reasonable 5,000 KZT. You don’t need a room to have a good time, though, as there’s a large dance floor complete with podiums for go-go dancers and a stage for DJs and live performers. There’s Italian and Japanese cuisine on offer, too, but we suggest sipping cocktails mixed by the award-winning Absolut barmen or indulging in a bottle of Champagne or ‘party mix’ (a bottle of vodka or whisky plus mixers) – just the thing to get the young and energetic crowd going.
