After 15 years under the Hyatt name, Rahat Palace has returned to its original roots and reclaimed the name of the building that houses one of the city’s oldest hotels. The hotel has a friendly and welcoming lobby, recently-refurbished and bolstered by a great café and bar (our one gripe is that the rest of the hotel has not been refurbished, and certainly needs it). Despite its slightly tired look, however, the Rahat Palace remains a firm favourite. It has a very stylish spa, a sound restaurant in the form of The Grill, and a warm, convivial atmosphere that’s missing in many of its competitors. Much of the locally- employed staff have stayed on, too, so you can continue to expect a high level of service with your stay.
