Formerly the slightly North African Pulpo restaurant, the chefs of Classico have decided to take the menu firmly over the water and into the Italian mainland. Oud-Zuid has many restaurants that manage to survive while serving mediocre food at top notch prices. Classico is not such a place. The interior is modern and simple, split over three small levels, each with about five tables. In the summer there’s a small terrace overlooking the busy Willemsparkweg. The surroundings add to the feeling of being much further south, dining on well executed pasta dishes and fresh vegetables, with typically Italian flavours. Make sure you get a coffee after diner, to taste their homemade pure chocolate.
