Situated on one of Astana’s nicer streets, Café Corso slightly takes one by surprise. More of a watering hole than a café, a Russian menu is matched by Russian/Swiss interiors. An eclectic mix, but one that works well with doilies and cross-stitch cushions decorated with cats and snow-sledging children making for a truly trippy space indeed. While certainly not trendy, Café Corso’s charm is in its couldn’t-care-less attitude. Just don’t be put off by the burly vodka-drinking, chain-smoking men propping up the bar inside.
