Art Gallery used to be called Famous and both names are applicable given the 400-odd photographs of celebs and models lining the walls of this vast club and entertainment complex. The entrance is tucked down the side of a rather unexciting-looking building, but inside there’s much to impress. Immediately past the entrance is the stylish silver and black lounge area and there is a separate ‘English pub’ off to the right, complete with heavy wooden furniture, VIP billiards rooms and illuminated ‘views’ of London. Continue through the lounge bar to the club where tables are set around a large dance floor and there’s a programme of DJ sets and karaoke (tables from 10,000 KZT) on alternate nights, with plans afoot to introduce a live Cuban band thrice weekly and one themed party per week, too – an eclectic mix! Last but by no means least, Art Gallery is also home to a busy bowling alley with seven lanes. The welcoming atmosphere attracts a slightly older clientele, with things picking up after around 10pm and free entry all night.
