The owners of Tiflis have done their best to create a Georgian corner on the city’s Right Bank. Huge stained-glass windows characterise the exterior, while inside is a cosy, medieval-style dining room complete with old photographs, vine leaves and a waiting staff in traditional Georgian attire. This is matched with a hearty Georgian menu: choose from 12 types of khachapuri and indulge in khinkali the traditional way (with your fingers, turned upside down, slurping all the juice out). Although we’d usually recoil in horror at the thought of a themed restaurant, Tiflis succeeds where so many others have failed.
