Jasmine (Chinese) and Siam (Thai) have now been absorbed into one restaurant, occupying one side of the third floor of Bridge Plaza, freeing up the other side for the so-so Mediterranean, Olive. With an attractive dining room, all chinese good luck scarlet, with fans, carved fretwork screens and other bits of chinoiserie and big revolving lazy susans on the 8-seater round tables, the atmosphere is spot on for a family-friendly, neighbourhood Chinese. The menu leans heavily to the Chinese side too and features some regional specialities like a great Szechuan hot and spicy soup. Its solid range of Thai staples impress as well though and its no surprise to find that among its clientele of ex-pats are, crucially, a lot of the Chinese Embassy staff, who come in their droves on Sunday lunch-times.
