Fantasia was built in 1880 and was the first bath to be designed along
Western lines, so it is entirely composed of private rooms with no communal wash
area. For this reason, it is the only hammam that welcomes men and women every
day. Sexes are usually forbidden to intermingle at the hammams, with most being resolutely unisex (usually male) or occasionally open to women. Now gloriously faded, it is a wonderful place to come and take tea and
marvel at the Victorian era grandeur, cracked and stained by years of hard
wear. If you are feeling brave enough, a sauna and rub down costs 10 AZN.
