While it may not boast the kind of high-end touches you'd expect of a true boutique beauty The Old City Inn does offer the kind of hands-on service that's long-forgotten in most modern-day stays.
Old Gates
What Old Gates lacks in decadent décor it certainly makes up for with space; the rooms are enormous and will accommodate you your other half and anyone else you may want to bed down with.
Museum Inn
The Museum Inn proves that more really is more with cluttered interiors and cosy but undeniably comfy rooms.
Meridian
Despite having nothing to do with the Le Méridien group The Meridien Hotel still enjoys a central location and spacious rooms. The décor may not be as decadent as the chain of the same name would command but a planned refurb suggests there'
Metropol
Trashy but trendy nevertheless the Metropol has Baku's coolest jet-setters checking-in for a night or two of rockstar behaviour.
Landmark
Despite being open only a year The Landmark Hotel has become er something of a favourite atop Baku's iconic pink-granite office building of the same name.
Grand Hotel Europe
The Grand Hotel Europe is not a patch on the glittering glory of its heyday but rumour has it that it's been sold with a major refurb planned for the future. One can only hope.
Hale Kai
Don't be put off by its three-star rating; with innovative interiors and wonderfully welcoming staff members Hale Kai will have you dreaming of Baku long after you've left.
Golden Coast
Glitz glamour and grandeur; Baku's hotel scene is getting a makeover and first in line is Golden Coast. Having recently opened the hotel proves that bling is still in with interiors so bright they almost blind.
Baleva
Offering a handful of rooms just off a cobbled square in the Old City Baleva is a clean comfortable place to catch 40 winks.
Boutique Palace
Expect all the opulence of an Orient Express carriage at the Boutique Palace with ever-so tasteful décor and a smarty clientele to match.
City Mansion
City Mansion offers a home away from home with serviced apartments that offer all the amenities you'd expect from a living environment; Asian-inspired touches wrap things up nicely.
Crown
While it may not be the crowning glory of Baku's hotel scene the Crown is nevertheless a comfortable place to hanker down for those in need of 40 winks.
Excelsior
Aside from its rockstar-worthy Imperial Suite and God knows how many other well-appointed guest rooms The Excelsior has more amenities than you can shake a very large stick at. Check in and check it out.
Ambassador
With a planned rennovation to help it hold on to its five golden stars things can only get better at the Ambassador Hotel.
Anatolia
As one of Baku's newest openings the Anatolia the kind of interiors and amenities to please even the most demanding hedonist.
Atropat
Famed for its larger-than-most rooms the Atropat offers sumptuous styling and sharp service to boot.
Austin
As one of Baku's best urban sanctuaries the Austin Hotel offers 31 rooms of chic calm in the heart of the city - yet you can hear a penny drop in the foyer.
Bakhchasaray Guest House
While its name may have you tongue-tied The Bakhchasaray is a period property brimming with charm and offers peace and quiet in the heart of the Old City.
Sultan Inn
Arguably Baku's only true boutique hotel, the Sultan Inn couldn't be more central if it tried and comes complete with a dark intimate design scheme for cosy nights in for you and a loved one (or sexy stranger).
Riviera
Despite being a bit further afield than most of our listings - it's a 20-minute walk into town - the Riviera remains a firm favourite thanks to its rock star style and stunning sea views.
Radisson Blu Plaza
With views looking out over Fountain Square and an excellent café bar and restaurant combo, Radisson Blu Plaza checks all the right boxes. Its anticipated renovation will only add to its panache.
Park Inn
The Park Inn is one of Baku's more mainstream hotel offerings but don't let that put you off; owned by Radisson/ISR Holdings it's supremely comfortable with a restaurant and bar to keep you off the streets during the small hours.
Palace
Guests are free to be the king of their own castle at the Palace Hotel, which is nothing like the NY hotel of the same name but boasts enough chic Parisian style to make up for any confusion.
