La Vinya del Senyor
La Vinya del Senyor looks a little shabby from the outside but a tiny spiral staircase inside the main entrance leads you to a small upstairs seating area with open bay windows and views of the enormous Santa Maria church, which is stunning at night. It’s cosy but one is aware of being in a truly great and very carefully curated bar – a small, traditional tapas menu is available, designed to accompany and compliment almost any wine, cava or champagne you order from the extensive wine list. The whites come from Australia to Austria, Catalunya to California while the reds hail from France, Italy, Spain – anywhere that produces quality grapes and vineyards. If you really feel like splurging, a 1964 Dom Perignon is available for €785 or if you prefer a red, the 1998 Pingus (€699) comes highly recommended. However, the scope of the wine list offers incredible wines whether you want to spend €30 or €300. The beauty of this bar’s location, the tranquil jazz that plays gently in the background and the views of Placa Santa Maria make La Vinya del Senyor a real treat.
