Part of a mini-chain of boutique, designer hotels in Spain’s chicest cities (Barcelona and Madrid) Hotel Praktik Bakery, in addition to delicious baked goodies, offers guests the chance to stay in the heart of the city for a very reasonable price tag.

The décor of the hotel, the handiwork of local designer Lazaro Rosa-Violán, is on the stylish side of homey and welcoming. Case in point: the 74 guest rooms are trendy and minimalist without feeling cold (think off-white ceramic tiles, wooden panelling, and crisp cotton bedding). And, thanks to its prime Eixample district location, you can grab a freshly baked pastry from Baluard and be (window) shopping along the tree-lined Passeig de Gràcia in no time at all.
