Tucked away in a sìhéyuàn behind the Forbidden City, Domus is the epitome of haut monde Beijing. Domus is the lounge of choice for Chinese movie stars, business bigwigs and upscale product launches. Oil paintings hang on the grey brick walls and the lounge is decorated with Artemide lighting, white leather Minotti sofas and other items from B&B Italia. The soundtrack is low-key, down tempo Hôtel de Costes. Classic cocktails are proficiently poured and there is a broad selection of single malt whiskeys. Domus is particularly known for its original martinis. Snacks and dishes from the French restaurant downstairs are available such as homemade charcuterie, Bouillabaise and moules frites. There are also four uniquely designed private rooms that are available if you want to live it large. Exercise sartorial discretion when attempting to gain entry and be prepared for a staring match with the bouncer.
