Xiu is a contemporary style sìhéyuàn designed by Japanese design dream team Super Potato and one of the capital’s most prominent nightlife venues. You’re likely to find guests such as Tom Ford or Tony Leung sipping on Xiu’s specialty Martinis and vodka cocktails. Despite its prestigious clientele, dancing on the bar in the wee hours is not unheard of. Xiu’s elaborately carved wooden pavilion is loosely based on Song Dynasty architecture and comprised of reclaimed wood from around China. It boasts an enormous roof terrace as well as a wine bar, cigar retreat, and live music lounge. Xiu even has its own wood-fired oven for cooking Peking Duck, which you can order as a bar snack. In the summer you can enjoy barbecued food on the terrace while gazing at the skyscrapers of the CBD. Thursday nights are particularly hot so arrive before 10pm to make sure you get in.
