Hidden in an alley across from the Worker’s Stadium, Alfa is one of Sanlitun’s nightlife staples. Upon entering the colonial chic of the enclosed patio there is no indication that behind a curtain lies a huge dance floor with a mezzanine lounge. French-Asian cuisine is served all night on the patio making it a great place to recharge your club hopping batteries. Reserve one of the comfy alcoves surrounded by white curtains, kick off your shoes and curl up with a Long Island Ice Tea. The best night to go is definitely Friday for the long-running original Beijing 80s Night, with a few 70s and early 90s tracks thrown in. Thirty-something ex-pats like to jump around to the music of their high-school years while the younger set pick up some much needed cultural reference, although some, such as Madonna are, well, universal. Papa don’t preach, I’m in trouble deep.
