Opened in 2007, the boutique hotel Guxiang 20 is a great addition to the Nanluoguxiang strip. Although it is located in a sìhéyuàn (quadrangle), the rooms have all been modernized to include LED Flatscreen TVs, Internet access, and roomy bathtubs. The décor is in keeping with the location: dark woodcarving, Chinese antiques, kàng beds and contemporary lighting. There are a variety of rooms including two-bedroom suites for families and several king-size suites. In particular we like Room 408, which has access to a huge balcony where you can have breakfast looking at the ancient skyline. There is also a bar and restaurant on the ground floor decked out with mammoth crystal chandeliers and red-velvet chairs. The most surprising element has to be the rooftop Tennis Court with sweeping views across the hútong to the World Financial Center in the CDB. (Non-guests can also play here for RMB 100-220/hour).
