Tribeca
A New York style café à la Friends, Tribeca is one of Beirut’s elegant cafe’s in Abdel Wahab at the top of Monnot Street. Set in a restored Achrafieh house, it’s airy and bright, with the work of different local artists adorning the brick walls each month. Popular with the young, old and hip for its bagels and muffins, Tribeca, like its eponymous neighbourhood in the Big Apple, is a place to hang out and while away hours in fine company. Wide velvet sofas frame the oblong space filled with wooden tables, and chill-out music washes out over the assembled throng. It’s a great brunch or breakfast haunt and a good place to spot the lovely Lebanese girls from the nearby Saint Joseph University.
