Le Vendôme is one of the larger boutique hotels in Beirut, with stunning views over the Corniche and the Mediterranean. It’s not much to look at from the outside but inside it is cosy, luxurious and lavishly decorated in a classical style; each of the 51 rooms are individually decorated in different colour schemes while the 22 suites are furnished with old master prints, wood-panelling and heavy fabrics. There is no pool here, but guests may use the facilities at the Phoenicia next door, amongst others. One of the highlights is Sydney’s, the 24-hour restaurant and bar on the top floor, a styled colonial English space filled with leather couches and offering great views. Come here late at night for an exclusive look into an otherwise hidden Beirut society. The Au Premier restaurant is one of the best in town, offering great food in high-class surroundings.
