Abdel Wahab el Inglizi

A large, glass-fronted Lebanese restaurant situated in a street at the top of Monnot in Achrafieh, Abdel Wahab el Inglizi is one of the most popular places to eat in Beirut for its food, atmosphere and rooftop terrace, which is rammed with locals and tourists alike during the summer. It has a deservedly good reputation for its lavish Lebanese food served in ample portions – order a selection of mezze (hummus, labne, cheese rolls, meat pastries, tabbouleh), wash them down with a choice of the finest Lebanese araks, and round off the evening with a narguileh (water pipe) – and satisfaction’s guaranteed. Abdel Wahab is loud and always full so remember to reserve a table. Go with a crowd of friends for great food at reasonable prices in a humming atmosphere before you head off to the nearby bars and clubs of Monnot
