Eau de Vie is one of those restaurants in Beirut that you would love to be able to hate but you just simply can’t. It is pure high life: a potent mixture of Mediterranean views, exquisite surroundings and gourmet food.
Located on the top floor of the Phoenicia Hotel
, the atmosphere is intimate and relaxed – think well-spaced tables, leather armchairs, soft carpeting, low lighting and dark wooden cabinets stocked with wine and cigars. The clientele, as you might expect, is affluent, chic and stylish. If it all sounds a little extravagant, it is, but the food, service and views make it really special.
Hotel restaurants can be a little staid, but at Eau de Vie you soon forget where you are as you stare out over the bay, with a piano softly played in the background. The menu is impressive, the food an enticing mix of delicately prepared dishes and fantastically fresh seafood.
