Hg2 : The Hedonist

Julia’s

Located in the heart of plush Achrafieh, on one of the most exclusive streets, Julia’s is one of the most polished restaurants in Beirut, an exquisite blend of the modern and the traditional. It is housed in a traditional French Mandate period stone building, whose cracked, faded walls and large windows create a comfortable atmosphere. rn

An international fusion menu betrays more than a touch of French influence; consequently the meat is cooked to perfection and the sauces are almost sensuous. The wine list draws from Lebanese Kefraya and Ksaara reds and whites to a cool Sancerre as well as some more extravagantly indulgent options. Unsurprisingly, the local chef learned his trade in France and the service is spot on.

A modern zinc bar is ideal if you just want to drink, which makes Julia’s a good spot for a romantic nightcap. Booking in advance is a must.
