People is one of our favourite restaurants in Beirut. Located high on top of Aishti (Beirut’s equivalent of Harvey Nichols), People is a relaxed place, with comfortable Driade chairs in transparent Plexiglas, a long oak table and designer Italian sofas. rn
You can just go for a drink or coffee but it’s more than likely you’ll be tempted by the menu as chef Franck Paulmier’s brasserie-style food hits the spot. People draws in a uniformly affluent crowd of all ages but with a common love of food. A good downtown alternative to the numerous street-side cafés and restaurants, it’s perfect for lunch or an early dinner (note that it closes with the main store at 10pm).
