Tyre Public Beach

Lebanon’s southernmost city, famous for its archaeological ruins and rich history, has the best stretch of undeveloped beach in Lebanon. Part of the Tyre Nature Reserve, which means that development is forbidden, the beach is clean, the sand white and the sea a gorgeous green. Although services are kept to a minimum, at the back of the beach a long row of wooden huts is erected and taken down each season which provide drinks and food. A simply beautiful beach close to the city’s ruins, which include Alexander the Great’s monumental Arch, to make a relaxing and culturally stimulating day trip. Allow about 2 hours to get there and back, depending on traffic.
