Once upon a time, Cookies was one of those illegal, location-shifting Berlin club parties. It finally settled in 2007 into this central location, where those who thought it might sell out have been proved very wrong indeed. Open only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and weekends, this is where the Berlin’s savvy, style-conscious groovers come and party the night away to minimalist house and electric funk in the ballroom-esque environment. Start out with a drink and some party tunes in the downstairs bar (a former bank vault), then head to the main floor for some seriously bass-heavy sounds. The crowds are younger than some clubs in the city, but the vibe is loose and fun, the toilets unisex and if you get peckish you can grab some excellent vegetarian food at the restaurant upstairs (see Cookies Cream, page SNACK). Saturday nights is the popular Crush night.
