Hg2 : The Hedonist

Gugelhof

One of the traditional Alsatian restaurants in Berlin made famous by an impromptu visit by Bill Clinton is hearty without being heavy. Of particular note is the Sundgauer Raclette, a type of fondue prepared by diners at their own table. Brown and beige distressed walls create a warm and instantly relaxing interior and Gugelhof is wonderfully laid back for a fine dining restaurant. The long, rustic tables are ideal for large groups and peels of laughter keep the atmosphere upbeat. For young Berliners, this is the place to bring parents when they are in town. Diners who bag the window seats benefit from views over the leafy streets of Prenzlauer Berg. During the summer, when the weather turns warm, the outdoor tables fill up quickly, particularly for the weekend brunch.
