This relatively new Berlin restaurant, Horváth is part-owned by the team behind the highly successful Jolesch, has already made waves on the Berlin gastro scene. Located on Paul-Lincke-Ufer, conveniently close to Kreuzberg’s vibrant bar scene, it’s known for both its intimate ambience and the excellent cuisine cooked by chef Wolfgang Müller. A tiny ante-room near the front offers tables with window views, though most are seated in the main, longer room at the back, surrounded by wood panelling and a convivial hubbub. Though Müller’s recipes have a solid grounding in German and especially Austrian cuisine, they often carry an experienced international twist. Ideal for a romantic dinner date, or a relaxed meeting with friends, Horváth is a very welcome kid on the Kreuzberg block.
