The Red Lion
Quirky memorabilia lines the walls of The Red Lion, including UK flags and Guinness signs, and the bare brick walls and dark wood create one of the more homey atmospheres of any of the bars in Bogotá. The crowd is predomaintly twentysomethings here to sample beer imports from all over the world (though the Bogotá Beer Company brews remain the best on offer), and to down one of the generous three litre-servings. During the week there are frequent darts competitions, but by the weekend the pub and terrace are full of relaxed conversations getting ever-more raucous. Some of the cocktails rival the beers (such as the ‘Notting Hill’: a Baileys, whiskey, brandy and Colombian coffee concoction), and oldies tend to dominate the music selection.
