Like many of the cafés in Bogotá, there’s a good selection of savoury options on offer at Harry’s, like a make-your-own salad bar and a selection of different wraps (the falafels are pretty good too), but what really makes this place shine is the desserts. Around 15 different types of cakes are available every day, and they are big glossy desserts that you can really sink your teeth into. Apple spills out of the apple tart, the lemon lime pie has towering peaks of meringue, and the chocolate chunks in the chocolate cake are some of the biggest we’ve ever seen. Harry’s Bakery is very North American in style, and the cakes certainly fit in with that palate: they are extremely rich and sugary, with decadent toppings to crash any diet. In short, comfort food at its most calorific.
