The VIP lounge at Bendito is almost as large as the main club section, and it is one of the larger clubs in Bogotá, with a huge pyramid of red bottles as a backdrop and space to sit at a table without rubbing shoulders with the riff-raff. Owner Antonio can often be found in this section, and if he takes a shining to you then consider Bendito ‘su casa’ – and a very nice casa it is, too. The DJs play as gods on a neon-lit platform with a huge pixel screen behind them that flashes psychedelic displays to get the crowd pumping. Electronic and hip-hop are the main genres of choice, and Bendito attracts some of the best DJs in the city. All the bartenders are female and uniformed in tight jeans and low-cut white tops, which works well for the big-tippers. Despite its high-tech, high-octane glamour, Bendito does have a rustic edge, with small candles sitting where there are missing bricks in the wall.
