BH El Retiro
Hotel BH el Retiro claims to cater for businessmen, though in reality the foyer seems to suggest that this is one of the hotels in Bogota which is more designed for bachelors. Deep red swivel chairs are lit by disco-ball lamps, which are framed by glass walls on one side and a bar on the other. The hotel feels personal, but there’s a distinct effort to look sleek and modern. Upstairs, the rooms are spacious; a twin suite holds two queen-sized beds and a couple of armchairs. And don’t forget the black shagpile rug – oh, behave! The bathroom is a world of granite and is entirely white, while the TV offers a selection of English channels. The staff are very friendly and the hotel is barely a few footsteps from all the lure of Zona T, so you certainly won’t be isolated.
