Hg2 : The Hedonist

Hotel Porton

Hotel Porton, one of the more classic hotels in Bogota, has a warm, burnt orange lobby and plenty of rustic charm. The reception entrance leads to five separate lounge areas, all decorated in quaintly antiquated style with plenty of seating in the form of striped armchairs and dark leather sofas. One room is designed as a study area, but unfortunately most of these sitting rooms constitute the corridor for guests en route to their rooms. Upstairs, the old-fashioned charm takes shape in the 38 rooms, which are draped in paisley rugs and hunting prints. At times, the décor seems more forlornly outdated than intentionally quaint, but overall Hotel Porton just manages to achieve a comfortingly homey atmosphere. The staff is accommodating, a considerable breakfast buffet is included in the room price, and Hotel Porton has an enviable location as both quiet and a short walk to Zona T.
