Astrid y Gaston
Astrid y Gaston is one of the restaurants in Bogota which is renowned throughout South America. Its reputation is carefully upheld through the delicate flavours of the food and sophisticated cooking techniques. Once you’ve walked through the garden along the long gravel path, the entrance opens up to a warm wood-panelled dining room with sleek white tables that makes for understated refinement. True to Peruvian style, the menu offers plenty of fish, including sublime ceviche and plenty of octopus. Though the pork skin is also a favourite dish, highly recommended is ordering a tasting menu in order to sample the full range of Astrid y Gaston’s delights. There are a range of piscoes (pisco martinis, pisco cosmos, mango piscoes), and an extensive wine list that starts at moderately-priced and goes up to $4,000,000 Colombian pesos a bottle. And if you’re truly devoted to wine, the Astrid y Gaston bar provides the perfect after-dinner dwelling.
