At Mott, stick to late afternoon/early evening drinks and a spot of people-watching. Its wide-open façade on Palermo Viejo’s El Salvador street is an inviting location for cool-off cocktails after a credit-card bashing session in the area’s boutique shops. In addition to a gourmet menu nibbles are available, so treat Mott as a pitstop before heading back to the hotel.
rnFor those with an hour or two to kill, you couldn’t do much better than observing Buenos Aires’ trend-setters strut by. Mott opened in late 2006, and as yet is without a loyal band of regulars, but its location, airy minimalist style and well-trained bar staff are already attracting fans. Easily accessible from the street, Mott will never be an exclusive, hip bar, but because it is indispensable to shopaholics, it will undoubtedly be here for the foreseeable future.
