Cabaña Las Lilas
Billions of dollars have been poured into Puerto Madero. Miami Beach-type towers are springing up around the docks to form a new high-rise hub in the city. Whether this building site is ultimately destined to be a ghost town is, for the moment, irrelevant.
What is not, however, is that this is where you will find Cabaña Las Lilas, one of Buenos Aires’ finest steak houses, and the better hotel concierges will always send their guests here to dine in the evening. However, the reality is that no porteño with fashion sense will battle through traffic to eat in Puerto Madero during the evening.
In addition, few porteños are prepared to pay the extortionate prices here, and are deterred by the problem of parking. So come in the day, and admire Puerto Madero’s docks and mammoth constructions from Cabaña Las Lilas’ terrace. The beef here is exceptional, as is the service. If you do come in the evening, follow dinner with drinks at either Buddha Bar or Radio Set.
On Wednesdays even the trendy porteño is prepared to take a taxi to party at Puerto Madero’s Asia de Cuba.
