Found in the boutique hotel of the same name, The Clubhouse is Chamonix’s most exclusive bar/restaurant. Offering arguably the coolest cocktailing in the Alps, this Art Deco masterpiece of a bar/lounge is part of the achingly cool Rushmore Group (think Milk & Honey of London and New York). While first and foremost a hotel, access can be secured with a prior dinner reservation (naturally, hotel residents are welcome without restriction), although some have been known to sneak into the bar without.
The Clubhouse’s impressive – and ludicrously large – drinks menu boasts some of the finest Scottish, Irish and Japanese whiskies known to man, an 18-year-old Bourbon, premium vodkas and a collection of rare vintage Armagnacs (some dating back to the 19th century). Indulge in them or some expertly-mixed cocktails while relaxing in front of the bar’s log fire.
