There are three modern hotels with a boutique feel to them in the centre of town: our favourite, the Esplendor, the funky 725 Continental, and now 725’s sister hotel, the 562 Nogaro.
While not as slick as the other two and lacking somewhat in facilities (no bedside Jacuzzis or rooftop pool) the 562 Nogaro ‘does the job’. The refurbished four star hotel, re-opened in late 2006, is located just a couple of blocks from Plaza de Mayo, the focal point around which Buenos Aires was built.
Comfortable, independent, and in the bustling heart of the city, 562 is not about fashion or seeing and being seen. Rather, the 562 Nogaro offers an uncomplicated, clean and modern place to sleep, remember this is the 725 Continental’s sister hotel so quality is guaranteed, and a base from which to make your assault on San Telmo and the surrounding areas.
It is only a 10 minute cab ride away from Recoleta if the traffic fumes become too intoxicating, and there are plenty of subway stations in this part of town.
