Llandudno & Sandy Bay
Although parking is always a problem, finding a spot on the white sand between Llandudno’s sculptural boulders is bliss. Nearby Sandy Bay has long been famous as the city’s unofficial nudist beach; it’s surrounded by boulders and thick fynbos vegetation so there’s a good sense of seclusion (and protection from the wind), aided by the effort and time – along a very long, narrow path – taken to get here. That doesn’t mean that women aren’t vulnerable to shameless voyeurism, while for gay men, the far end of the beach is a known cruising hub.
