Le Bistrot des Sports
One of the more warm and friendly places to drink in Chamonix is Le Bistrot des Sports, where a welcoming atmosphere overflows into the adjacent restaurant. Dishes on the restaurant’s menu include snails in garlic butter, lamb shank, mussels, fondue and salads, while its bar offer après-ski favourites and more.
Extremely popular as an after-work hangout for the resort’s mountain guides, Le Bistrot des Sports is steeped in local history; it first opened in 1924, while Roche Frisian (the first secretary of the Winter Olympic Games in Chamonix) took ownership in the 1930s. It’s no wonder locals love propping up the bar here.
