Roc Merlet offers more off-piste skiing in the Chaplets sectors that other runs in Courchevel, although be prepared to strap on some skins to go out of bounds. Take the chair to the col de Chanrossa then tackle the half-hour climb to the Roc Merlet; the first part is around 40-degrees for 25 metres – significantly steeper than the average black. Snowboarders may enjoy the top of the trail, but there are some long flats further down which they will find tiresome.
