Hg2 : The Hedonist

NuBlu East

Set within a larger club complex on Muallim Naci Caddesi called New Yorker (a favorite destination for going out in Istanbul), Nublu East is the love child of the well-regarded tenor saxophonist and producer Ilhan Ersahin, whose playing style, for the record, is influenced by John Coltrane and Joe Henderson. rnrnAfter the success of his first club Nubulu, set up in New York’s East Village, where he also runs a record label, Ersahin thought he’d try his hand at the same thing at home. Given the musical pedigree of its owner, it’s no surprise that Nublu East plays a sophisticated mix of groove, reggae, pop and disco. rnrnThe atmosphere and crowd is more bohemian and less flashy (not difficult) than those that frequent the other clubs on the strip, but still comprises a fair number of beautiful people.
