Fino is the best Spanish restaurant in Jo’burg – not that there’s much competition, mind – and is perfectly poised on a quiet street in Parktown North. This charming little eatery is easily identified by the white decking outside, which provides a great platform for long summer evenings with a glass of wine in-hand and a plate or three of tapas. The interior is simple but charming, with a black and white theme furnished by comfortable benches, flowers on tables and a 16-seat tapas and cocktail bar. The menu is a heady mix of Spanish and Mediterranean classics, and ranges from cold tapas (tortilla, boquerones and albondigas) to more Mediterranean-inspired plates (haloumi, crostini and steak tartare). We recommend sticking to the tapas selection to get the best out of Fino.
