Annica’s Deli is a wonderfully decadent patisserie located in the Michelangelo Towers. Originally Annica’s started life as a bespoke cake-making enterprise, but due to popular demand and a devoted clientele they opened up in this smart development. The opulent interior décor and extravagant furnishings belie the indulgence that waits inside. The fantastic cakes on show all look far too good to eat, they are more akin to works of art ranging from beautiful, towering, tiered creations adorned with gold leaf to expertly crafted, delicate lace-covered cupcakes. For those who prefer something a bit heartier (or less frou-frou) the chocolate rum brownies are divine. Come sunset Annica’s turns into a charming restaurant offering a classic South African/International menu and a potently chic cocktail list. And if you really feel like splashing out there’s a private lounge that serves champagne and caviar.
