Hg2 : The Hedonist

A Hedonist’s guide to…

Lisbon

A Travessa
Based within the busy tourist area of Lapa, this restaurant is mainly adored by Lisboetas, which is always a promising sign to tourists. Its reputation is simply unbeaten in the area.
Palacio Belmonte
This is quite simply a wonderful hotel. The refurbishment of this 15th Century palace has been completed with such love, care and attention to detail guests are instantly blown away.
Tavares Rico
This luxurious dining house is well situated in the hubbub of the bars and restaurants the area has to offer. After a period of closure, it is more acclaimed than ever.
Teatro Nacional de Sao Carlos
The theatre still hosts classical performances - alongside its contemporary festival in November - and tickets are cheap.
Lapa Palace
The Lapa Palace has traditionally been regarded as Lisbon's premier hotel. Sitting atop one of the city's seven hills, the views from the magnificent garden and terrace are superb.
Lisboa Noite
Despite being situated on the busy street of Rua do Norte, Lisboa Noite offers a calm and sophisticated evening. Good seafood is served at reasonable prices, and service is friendly and polite.
Palácio Estoril
Opened in 2010, the international spa-brand is the first of its kind in Portugal offering Thai and Asian treatments.
Lisbon Sports Club
A much more wet and wild golfing experience, this course is crossed by the River Jamor and is the second oldest in Portugal.
