Net Jazz Cafe
Part of the Chapitô circus school, this cosy bar is accessed via a winding staircase from the upstairs terrace. During the day it functions as an internet café and study area, but on a Friday and Saturday night it’s a great place to catch live bands.
rnThe music policy is loose, but reliably eclectic, with acts ranging from 1950s swing to African percussion. The focal point is a large marble bath filled with cushions, from which the artists perform. A consistently receptive audience of artists and bohemian students are never afraid to participate, making for a lively atmosphere.
rnThe space itself is equally vibrant, with lurid mosaics and barber’s chairs forming part of the furniture. An evening at Net Jazz is a truly unique experience. This is the kind of bar you’d love to stumble across anywhere in the world.
