O Outra Face da Lua
O Outra Face da Lua is not one of Lisbon’s cafes as such, but the tea room annex to this retro clothes store attracts a crowd of self-consciously trendy regulars. Not a drop of alcohol can be found on the premises, but customers find an alternative way to get high: a selection of herbal teas from Holland. A choice of psychedelic infusions boasts properties ranging from calming to energising, with slightly more punch than your standard PG Tips. Thankfully the neon new-age hippie connotations end there.
Music is low-key and surroundings relaxed. Funky scene-setters with angular haircuts lounge on orange leather seating behind dividers the colour of boiled sweets. The owner’s pet cat has become quite a fixture – it wanders the store with ease and can be found bathing under one of the many neon floor lamps. This is the perfect spot to chill, and purchase a vintage Nike tracksuit.
